Fiber

We provide a dedicated symmetric 10Gbps connection to Swanroe with shared Internet access from there. The shared Internet access is currently ~100 Mbps, but a multi-gigabit link is under construction.

If none of your neighbors have fiber with us, we are unlikely to be able to offer you fiber services. We rely on private leases and easements across our members’ properties to run fiber to new members.

Costs

Our fiber Internet access is offered on a cost recovery basis. Those costs are divided between construction and operation. The construction costs are covered by a one-time payment for the equipment and the physical fiber laid back to our switches, and vary based on how far you are. The operational costs are recurring, and recovered from your monthly dues.

One the multi-gigabit link is up and running, we will recommend $75/month to cover the operational costs for fiber connections.

Technical Details

We provide public IPv6 addresses (a /56 by default, a /48 upon request, and larger prefix with justification). We do not provide public IPv4 addresses, but can provide some static port translation to IPv6 addresses and SNI-based TLS forwarding for web hosting.
